#Lithium’s High Global Demand; A New Call for ‘Drill Baby Drill’ But Now it’s for #EV Metal Miners: (OTCQB: $ENRT) (CSE: $TOP.C) (TSXV: $SLL.V) (NYSE: $LTHM) (TSX: $ORL.TO)

Point Roberts WA, Delta BC – February 20, 2019 - Investorideas.com, one of the first global investor news source covering lithium stocks issues a snapshot looking at the projected growth demand for lithium and how lithium miners are looking to meet the growing global demand.

According to Research and Markets, the lithium ion battery market is estimated to grow from USD 37.4 billion in 2018 to USD 92.2 billion by 2024, at a CAGR of 16.2% between 2018 and 2024. The growth of the lithium ion battery market is driven by an increase in demand for plug-in vehicles, growing need for automation and battery-operated material-handling equipment in industries, growing demand for smart devices and other industrial goods, and high requirement of lithium-ion batteries for various industrial applications.

Electric Vehicle (EV) metals are all in demand; lithium, cobalt, rare earths, graphite, nickel, and copper. Here is how a few lithium companies are betting on the future and ramping up.

Enertopia Corporation (OTCQB:ENRT) (CSE:TOP) is looking to expand its lithium capacity, having recently announced that all drill core sample assays have been received from the four resource definition holes and one metallurgical test hole. The best hole for grade and thickness was TOP-02* that averaged 1,231 ppm li over 262 feet, Including 1,368 ppm li over 186 feet in the main reduced zone.

Drilling confirms widespread lithium mineralization on the property. This zone appears to have a regional NE trend starting from the Southwest on Cypress Development’s proposed high-grade starter pit, with an average grade of ~ 1,105 ppm Li and running through the project and then onto Noram Ventures project to the northeast where they have outlined a shallow resource to ~ 50 feet averaging 1,060 ppm li.

“Drilling has not only verified the Company’s expectations for the potential of the lithium horizon on our property but we have been able to show by the drill bit that the drill intersections to date indicate any future outlined resource could have Lithium values exceeding those of the proposed high grade starter pit envisioned on the Cypress Development property to our southwest,” stated President, Robert McAllister.

Standard Lithium Ltd. (TSXV:SLL.V) (OTC:STLHF) also reported on a maiden lithium resource statement for its approximately 30,000 acre Project (aka TETRA Project) in the south-western region of Arkansas, USA.  The maiden resource report includes 802,000 metric tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) at the Inferred Resource Category.  Combined with Standard Lithium’s other project in Southern Arkansas, this results in a total combined Arkansas lithium brine resource of 3,888,000 tonnes LCE.

Robert Mintak, CEO said, “This combined project in Southern Arkansas positions us as the largest lithium brine resource in the US; a significantly expanding market that currently relies on imports of foreign lithium.”  Dr. Andy Robinson, President and COO of Standard Lithium continued “Our collaboration with TETRA Technologies was fundamental in allowing Standard Lithium to gain a meaningful foothold in the south-west Arkansas Project area, and this maiden resource estimate is validation of the high resource potential we identified in this highly prospective region.  We look forward to tighter definition of this resource and developing its potential in parallel with the Lanxess property.”

Companies like Livent Corporation (NYSE: LTHM) who recently reported its fourth quarter and full-year 2018 results have seen the benefits of increased lithium demand.  For the year, Livent reported revenue of $443 million, an increase of 27 percent compared to 2017.

"We delivered revenue and Adjusted EBITDA for the fourth quarter of 2018 in-line with our prior expectations," said Paul Graves, President and Chief Executive Officer of Livent Corporation. "Looking ahead to 2019, we expect revenue growth in the high teens percentage, driven largely by higher volumes and a stable pricing environment."

"The fundamental drivers of demand in our industry continue to be positive. In particular, electric vehicle sales that are consistently exceeding even the most bullish forecasts, as well as battery technology developments that are increasingly favoring lithium hydroxide.  We remain confident that Livent will continue to be a leader in the performance lithium compounds industry in the coming years."

Orocobre Limited (OTC: OROCF) (TSX: ORL.TOprovided an update on the completion of pumping test activities at the Cauchari JV property located in Jujuy Province, Argentina.
The exploration program is being managed by JV partner Advantage Lithium Corp., who holds 75% of Cauchari. Orocobre owns 33.5% of Advantage Lithium's issued capital and 25% directly in the joint venture.
More lithium projects like Enertopia’s are expected as lithium demand continues to be driven by emerging technologies, and according to projections, this market has many booming years ahead of it.

For investors covering the sector, Investor Ideas has created a directory of lithium stocks in in its mining stocks directory and in its cleantech stock directories, relating to batteries.

Advanced #Technologies and the Future of #Transportation; A Road to Innovation; (NASDAQ: $TSLA) (CSE: $LLT.C) (OTC: $LLNKF) (TSX: $MG.TO) (NYSE: $MGA) (NASDAQ: $SOLO)

Advanced #Technologies and the Future of #Transportation; A Road to Innovation; (NASDAQ: $TSLA) (CSE: $LLT.C) (OTC: $LLNKF) (TSX: $MG.TO) (NYSE: $MGA) (NASDAQ: $SOLO)

Point Roberts WA, Delta BC – February 19, 2019 - Investorideas.com, a global investor news source covering the tech sector looks at the future of transportation as autonomous vehicles, electric cars, smart cars and advanced tracking technology all become the new norm, thanks to  innovation from AI, blockchain and other technologies.

You can’t talk about the future of transportation without naming Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA), founded in 2003 by visionary Elon Musk, who is also looking at a whole new level of transportation with SpaceX.

Not satisfied with being the leader in electric cars, the company also says, “All Tesla vehicles produced in our factory, including Model 3, have the hardware needed for full self-driving capability at a safety level substantially greater than that of a human driver.”

In the Tesla Fourth Quarter & Full Year 2018 Update in January they reported, ”In the past two years, Tesla vehicles have accounted for all of the electric vehicle (EV) volume growth in the US. Even with the radical EV growth in the second half of 2018, EVs still account for just 2% of the total US market, and there remains a substantial opportunity for EVs to continue to gain marketshare in the US and globally. Consumer purchases have demonstrated that EVs are becoming a preferred option, as EVs in Q4 2018 outsold hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in the US for the first time in history.”

But there are still some issues to work out for Tesla, including logistics as Forbes reported, “Tesla Confronts "Logistic Nightmares" For Model 3 Says Musk.” Tesla is to deliver up to 400,000 vehicles world-wide this year, so it’s a problem that needs to be resolved.

Litelink Technologies Inc. (CSE: LLT(OTC: LLNKF), a key player in technology and artificial intelligence within the logistics sector is hoping to bring new technology solutions to the transportation industry. The company uses artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to solve the logistics industry’s fragmented and outdated technology problems.

The company recently released an update on its 1SHIFT Logistics platform. The 1SHIFT trials were planned with the objectives of delivering the capability for a shipper to select amongst a preferred set of carriers, and then track the shipment until successfully delivered.  A trucker will provide trip status and flag any issues via the 1SHIFT mobile app to minimize the communications with all parties and quickly resolve any obstacles for on-time delivery.

“We have received positive market feedback both on our web and mobile solutions to date.  By getting our mobile app in the hands of real truckers, we were able to make improvements that will significantly improve user experience, reduce mobile data usage, and at the same time verify our solution scalability and security.  This is exactly the type of product feedback we were looking for prior to large-scale commercial launch,” states COO, Kent Churn.  “Investing in an early alpha trial only helps us improve what is not working, and validates what is working well.”

Magna International Inc. (TSX:MG.TO(NYSE:MGA), one of the world's largest automotive suppliers has industry roots going back to 1957 when it began working with General Motors. Now the company says it’s racing to the future with new technology.

AT CES 2019, Magna introduced the company's future vision of how electrification, autonomy and smart mobility intersect:

"At CES 2019, ‘Welcome to Mobility' is Magna's vision of the future where electrification, autonomy and smart mobility are all intertwined," said Magna CTO, Swamy Kotagiri. "Leveraging more than 60 years of experience designing and developing new technology, Magna helps customers striving to change the entire vehicle experience, not just a few components. We are excited to demonstrate this holistic advantage at CES."

Talking about electrification technology, Magna says, “Global automotive trends serve as our signposts - and we have reached many milestones on our way to powertrain electrification.”

Electrameccanica Vehicles Corp. (NASDAQ: SOLO), a designer and manufacturer of electric vehicles with deep attachments in the automotive sector, recently said in an update to shareholders, “Our timing in entering this exciting new market could not have been better. The automotive industry is undergoing transformational changes throughout, with legacy automakers being disrupted by new EV entrants who are uniquely providing aspirational electric vehicles that consumers actually want to purchase.”

They also recently reported; ”Vehicle production and delivery from the Zongshen factory will ramp up throughout 2019 and the Company remains on track to commence deliveries of vehicles to customers.”

So what does the future hold?  Experts predict that “A person in almost any major city for example, could by 2040 be able to step out their front door to find waiting the autonomous pod they ordered from a nearby multi- storey charging station only minutes earlier.”

For investors following auto stocks and electric car stocks our site has created a directory of publicly traded companies in addition to an AI stocks directory.

The #Battery Race in the US and How #Lithium Plays a Leading Role; (TSXV: $SLL.V) (OTCQB: $STLHF) (NASDAQ: $MXWL) (NASDAQ: $TSLA) (NYSE: $ALB)

Point Roberts, WA and Delta, BC - February 6, 2019 (Investorideas.com Newswire) Investorideas.com, one of the first global investor news source covering renewable energy with its Renewableenergystocks.com content, looks at the race for the best batteries as sustainability becomes a mandate and how lithium will play a leading role.
On Monday, February 4th, investors were charged up as Maxwell Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MXWL), a developer and manufacturer of energy solutions announced it has entered into an agreement to be acquired at $4.75 per share by electric car company, Tesla, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA). The stock traded over 18 Million shares and was up over 49 % for the day.
"We are very excited with today's announcement that Tesla has agreed to acquire Maxwell. Tesla is a well-respected and world-class innovator that shares a common goal of building a more sustainable future," said Dr. Franz Fink, President and Chief Executive Officer of Maxwell. "We believe this transaction is in the best interests of Maxwell stockholders and offers investors the opportunity to participate in Tesla's mission of accelerating the advent of sustainable transport and energy."
Paramount to the future of the evolution of the auto industry is lithium. According to a report from Edinburgh Partners, "demand is expected to increase by a factor of 3-4 times by 2025 with the vast majority of the growth driven by pure Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV)."
Standard Lithium (TSXV:SLL) (OTCQB:STLHF) is well positioned as a strategic US source of battery quality lithium materials and is currently focused on the immediate development of its flagship, 180,000 acre Smackover Lithium project located in southern Arkansas.
Standard Lithium just reported a combined Arkansas lithium brine resource of 3,888,000 tonnes LCE. Robert Mintak, CEO said, "This combined project in Southern Arkansas positions us as the largest lithium brine resource in the US; a significantly expanding market that currently relies on imports of foreign lithium."
The Company announced January 9th that it produced its first quantity of battery quality (>99.56% purity) lithium carbonate due to its AI-powered continuous crystallization technology. Its breakthrough rapid lithium extraction process reduces the recovery time of extracting lithium from brine from the current industry method that takes years, to as little as a few hours.
Standard Lithium's recovery time may give them an edge on even some of the leaders, like Albemarle Corporation (NYSE: ALB), based in Charlotte, NC. Albemarle says in its presentation, "Obtaining capabilities to bring lithium from mine to market takes time."
How important is lithium to the US economy? Just recently, Energy Secretary Rick Perry launched a recycling initiative to recover the critical elements in lithium-ion batteries, calling it 'a matter of national security.'
"We aim to reduce our dependence on foreign sources of this material by encouraging entrepreneurs to capture up to 90 percent of America's lithium-based battery technology," Perry said.
They also note, "The lithium industry is still maturing from a technical and commercial perspective and does not behave like a commodity industry."
Examples of advanced lithium materials from Albemarle include: patented lithium-based materials to enable long cycle life; Li2S - a key ingredient in next frontier solid separators; and lithium metal foils for next frontier anodes.
Albemarle says it is their goal to provide material to this industry to support and increase the success of lithium-ion technology, not only in mobile communication and power tool (PWT) applications, but also in electric mobility.
Looking to the future, Albemarle also states, "the next generation of lithium batteries is on the horizon already."
And the next generation of investors is betting on this sustainable technology. According to TD Ameritrade, looking at trading purchases over the last few months, Millennials bought Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA), while the total population did not.
So the race is on; Simon Moores of Benchmark Minerals Tweeted, "We are in the midst of a global battery arms race in which the US is a bystander. Since my last testimony only 14 months ago we have gone from 17 to 70 lithium ion battery megafactories in the pipeline."
Companies like Standard Lithium (TSXV: SLL) (OTCQB: STLHF) are ready for the challenge to meet the demands of the future and keep the US in the race.
For investors covering the sector, Investor Ideas has created a directory of cleantech and renewable energy stocks including a lithium stock directory.

Advanced Technology for Rapid Extraction Will Be Key to Meeting Future #Lithium Demand; (TSXV: $SLL.V) (OTC: $STLHF) (NYSE: $ALB) (NYSE: $LTHM) (TSX: $NMX.TO) (OTC: $NMKEF)

Point Roberts, WA and Delta, BC - February 1, 2019 (Investorideas.com Newswire) Investorideas.com, a leading investor news resource covering AI and lithium stocks issues a snapshot looking at lithium companies preparing to meet future demands in the market and how technology innovation may play a lead role.
The future of lithium shows a high demand, though there is uncertainty surrounding whether the market will be able to keep up with extraction demands.
Looking at how this all plays out, Albemarle Corporation (NYSE:ALB) and Chile state development agency Corfo recently reached a deal to resolve a contract dispute centered around an amendment to the contract that requires Albemarle to provide as much as 25 percent of its annual production of lithium at a discount to companies seeking to produce battery metals within Chile.
Albemarle operates in Chile's Salar de Atacama, a salt flat in the country´s northern desert that supplies nearly 40 percent of the world´s lithium. Corfo, which leases mining rights in the Salar, had previously threatened to cancel its contract with Albemarle over the dispute, raising the spectre of potential supply disruptions amid booming demand.
The contract amendment that requires Albemarle to provide the ultralight battery metal at a reduced price is meant to spur a value-added lithium industry in Chile.
Albemarle produces most of its lithium from evaporation ponds. In November of 2018, the company's claim to developing a unique process to more than triple its lithium production from Chile's Atacama desert without using more water drew heavy scrutiny. Inside the US, Albemarle has already hinted at the potential of producing lithium to business owners operating near their Magnolia Arkansas operations, which is located nearby to Standard Lithium's potential commercial lithium project.
Conflicting reports regarding Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway's recent alleged interest in new US-based lithium extraction technologies has shone a spotlight on a rising need for innovation. Beyond Buffett's group, there has already been a push from the lithium sector to innovate. Despite lingering doubts about the feasibility of the Berkshire Hathaway project to produce lithium from California geothermal wells, other projects are priming for lithium production from US brines.
Understanding the need to innovate is Standard Lithium (TSX.V:SLL) (OTC:STLHF). Based in Southern Arkansas, with a planned joint venture involving a multi-billion-dollar global specialty chemical company, they are using innovative proprietary AI-powered rapid extraction technologies. This new high-tech approach may improve chances for success in this sector.
As international interests such as Germany and China jostle for position in other places like South America, securing North American lithium deposits is highly sought after domestically. The economic impact could be massive, as Chilean exports alone rose to $949 million in 2018.
Through its German partners, global chemical giant LANXESS and Standard Lithium have secured access to billions of gallons of lithium-rich brine; produced annually as a by-product of one of the world's largest bromine producers every year at their flagship project in Southern Arkansas.
Standard Lithium Ltd. (TSX.V:SLL) (OTC:STLHF) has the infrastructure and investment potential in place to move forward on a massive operating commercial brine-fueled lithium project in the USA. Should the next stages of the pilot and commercial feasibility testing be a success, LANXESS has announced a financial commitment to push the project into production.
Livent Corporation (NYSE:LTHM), focused on South America as well as Australia, calls itself "a world leader in lithium technology" The company also holds 50 product patents.
They also state, "Our control over the entire lithium operations chain-from pumping brine out of the ground to processing it into a range of performance products-enables us to lead the industry in lithium technology."
When discussing the lithium market in an interview, CEO Paul Graves said, "We think demand is going to grow almost five times larger in 2025 than it was in 2017. Our biggest challenge is producing enough to meet the demand - there's a much greater risk that this market is consistently in a deficit in the near future."
Other companies like Nemaska Lithium Inc. (TSX:NMX) (OTC:NMKEF), forecasted to be North America's next big lithium producer, is in the construction stage on its Whabouchi mine in the James Bay region of Quebec, Canada. According to the company's feasibility study, the capex on the project is set at approximately $875 million, of which Nemaska has already spent $272.4 million.
Nemaska Lithium has developed proprietary processes that use electrolysis to produce high-purity lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate for the lithium battery market. The technology virtually eliminates costly soda ash from the process.
The race to innovate in the lithium sector is on. According to Transparency Market Research, "Key players are focused on the innovation of new technologies in order to gain market share and serve a diverse range of end-user industries."
